The Grocer: “Sugarwise marque could be a starting point for an industry-wide Kitemark”

Sugarwise were recently at a Parliamentary meeting chaired by Keith Vaz MP on Diabetes, Obesity and sugar, with representatives from the Co-op, Sainsburys, Café Nero, Innocent and Planet organic. Sugarwise proposed that their Kitemark could be a starting point for the industry to tackle the problem of Obesity and Diabetes.

Sugarwise proposing lower VAT rates for certified products to Parliament in Westminster

Rend Platings founder of Sugarwise will be speaking at Parliament in Westminster on Wednesday 25th May. Rend will be supporting proposals to decrease VAT rates for healthy kitemarked products along with other incentives to improve the availability of and demand for healthier products.

The event will start at 4:00pm and in the Boothroyd room, Portcullis house, you can come and join in the conversation.

Westminster Food & Nutrition Forum- food labelling regulation seminar

Rend, founder of Sugarwise will be speaking along with many others at a Westminster seminar about food labelling regulation and the implementation, impact and the future for UK policy. Discussing the Governments childhood Obesity strategy and Public Health England’s recent sugar reduction report and proposals including separating free sugars from total sugars. Geraint Davies MP will be chairing the seminar on Tuesday 13th September 2016.

Food labelling is currently complicated and confusing making it difficult for consumers to find the right products for them. But what is the right solution? Sugarwise is the only labelling scheme offering a solution to inform customers about the free sugar content in their food.
