Rend has a First Class Honours Degree in Social Anthropology from Durham. After this at Cambridge, she served as President of the University Scientific Society and on its Advisory Board. Rend also worked as an expert on conflict resolution and negotiation. She has been on the boards of various organisations, including a 501(c)3 US non-profit. As a student Rend set up her first company in her college room and grew it to a quarter of a million turnover; she’s run global marketing campaigns and been a diplomat at the United Nations. Rend has been calling for a positive strategy improve the demand for, availability and visibility of healthier choices. She hopes by constructive dialogue and collaboration great strides will be made in making it easier for people to make the choices they want for themselves and their families.

Chris has over 20 years’ experience in finance and has held senior positions at a variety of organization types, ranging from business start-ups to a FTSE 250 company. He joined Sugarwise as CFO in January 2017. He is also the CFO of Abcodia, a company that engages in the commercial development of novel, scientifically validated tests for the early detection of cancer. Before joining the company Chris was CFO at Zinwave Ltd, steering the company to its sale in 2014. Previously, Chris was the Finance Director at Enecsys Ltd. and played a fundamental role in numerous fund raising activities, (including Series B for $41m) to support the global growth of the organisation. Chris has also held finance roles at Greene King, and is a Chartered Accountant, having trained with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Naomi Pyburn graduated from the University of Cambridge with an English BA and currently works on copy writing and media for Sugarwise. As a long term low-carber and co-creator of @TheKetoHappiness, she’s devoted to the low sugar lifestyle.
Having submitted her PhD in History at the University of Cambridge in December 2016, Mich has moved into the world of PR and Comms for Sugarwise.
Having been a part of Google’s Marketing and Sales teams, Sunil Bhat has extensive experience heading scalable high impact projects across countries and regions that delivered strong revenue growth. He is currently advising Sugarwise on its global business strategy.
In 1989, Valerie joined hi-tech company Acorn, then BT. She then headed PSINet UK Limited, which grew from 1.25m to 42m in turn over. Valerie helped build Pipex, the UK’s first commercial Internet Service Provider. Before joining the tech sector Valerie managed corporate and financial teams at Burson-Marsteller Public Relations in London, advising UK and European corporations on acquisitions and US. In her final year with PSINet, turnover exceeded £42 million, employed over 260 staff, and had less than 3% overdue accounts.
Natalie has a PhD in climate and ocean sciences from University of Cambridge. She is working on assessing the impact of our campaigns.
